Sick little girls
Posted by Jennifer Lovely on May 17th, 2012 filed in UncategorizedI think I am writing this out just to remember it. So we were getting ready for dinner last night. Thekla wasn’t listening then pitched a fit and got put in time out. A little side note she’s doing better but has been sick on and off for a week or so, fevers coughing. So she was sassing, and being really whiny. I finally got her heading toward the kitchen but she’s saying no to everything, I notice that she’s a bit warm. I ask her if she wants to sit on my lap. The only yes I’m given. She just clings to me, and lays her head against my chest. I start quietly shssing her like when she was tiny. She complains that she needs both my arms on her as I reach for a drink. So I wrapped both of them around her and we rock. I pick her up and she yells, but we have a chair in the front room that we can rock in, she yells the whole way there. I get there and sit shsshing and rocking her for the longest time as she just curls against my chest. While I was at the table we had given her some children’s ibruprofin. I think we rocked until it kicked in. Finally I asked if she wanted a pb&j and got a yes.
Bryan really remembers getting fevers as a child and being so disoriented and scared. I think we had our first bout of that. It was so hard having her be so unhappy, but it was lovely just holding her and being able to make it better.
I sure love my little girl.
